For years, we've been helping spread God's good news here in our town and throughout the world, and we pray that God will continue to use our congregation.

When you come to join us for the first time,

one of our greeters will be glad to help you become comfortable. If you'd like, they'll help you find the nursery (which is fully staffed and safely run), restrooms, and sanctuary.

During the service,

you'll hear our faith expressed through testimonies, the songs we sing, prayers we offer up and our pastor's preaching. All parts of our service are grounded in the Bible, which we are committed to upholding.

Say hello to our pastor and anyone else you see. We'd all love to hear your story and share ours with you.

No matter what your Christian background is (or isn't), we hope you'll join us on Sunday. Here at First Baptist Church of Altoona, you'll find people of all sizes, stripes and colors, and we welcome everyone--including you. Our services start at 10:55am and 6:00pm every Sunday.

At FBC Altoona, we have a simple hope: to see people come to know Jesus Christ and grow in their Christian faith. Our ministries come in all shapes and sizes. Please come and join us for worship.

Children Ministry

Our Children's ministry allows children to hear and rejoice while learning about good news of Jesus Christ. We seek to create a fun and loving environment for all Children. Children's ministry is available for all ages each Sunday morning at 9:45am. Children's church takes place during our Sunday morning worship, and Nursery is also provided for all services each Sunday morning.

Youth Ministry

Youth ministry is available for all ages each Sunday morning at 9:45am. We have Youth Fellowship every Wednesday from 6:00-7:00pm. Come a little early for some hot dogs and snacks!

Searching the Scripture

Join us every Wednesday from 6-7pm as we study the scriptures, by examining each verse to achieve a better understanding and how it teaches us in our daily lives. Following each class is a time devoted to prayer.

American Heritage Girls Troop FL4031

We sponsor an American Heritage Girls Troop, a Christ-centered character and leadership development program for girls 5 to 18 years of age. AHG is dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country.

Food Pantry

We run a food pantry, an outreach ministry to our community. Our volunteers provide free groceries to help meet the needs of members in our community. We hold the pantry on the first and third Thursdays of every month from 9:00am to Noon. We are always grateful for donations, some needs include - Canned fish and meats (such as chicken, ham, tuna and spam), canned fruits and vegetables, beef stew, chili, spaghetti sauce, dry pasta, canned pasta (Chef Boyardee); pancake mixes, boxed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, cereal, oatmeal and rice; mustard, ketchup and barbeque sauce; laundry detergent and other cleaning products.

Thrift Store

Our Thrift Store is open on the second and fourth Saturdays from 8:00am to Noon. (see events calendar as holidays, etc. may change the date)

We run by volunteers and on donations, and all money raised goes to missions, locally and in the US.

You will find treasures here for everyone. (We do not take in furniture due to limited space.)
